Asking for and accepting help isn't always easy for me. This week was one of those where I felt stretched thin. But then a beautiful thing happened, people helped me and I accepted their help. From hiring a new shop manager (more below) to parent friends picking up our kids from school and taking them for sleepovers, to a fellow woodworker rescuing me from a loom making debacle (yes, that's a thing in our world) it all got done. We build each other up when we offer and receive help. It can feel super vulnerable to say yes and thank you when someone offers their help but it's worth it and I'm always happy to help in return. Community, it's a good thing.

We hired a new retail shop manager, and will be focusing on stocking the shop with DIY kits, books, toys, and goods that reflect the work we value so much around here. Our goal is to grow our retail selection to reflect our love of community, craft, play, and life long learning. Joel comes to us from Winter Session and Berkley Supply and we're lucky to have him on our team. Come visit and see what he's working on.
