School Age Programs

We offer afternoon and after school programs for kids ages 4-12. During these programs, makers work collaboratively while exploring a variety of materials, ideas and techniques. Our class themes change each semester and we differentiate instruction based on the abilities of each student.

Please note that the following programs are held at Craftsman & Apprentice. For in-school programs visit our School Enrichment page.

AFTERNOON + HOMESCHOOL CLUB

Ancestral Skills
Ages 7-12
Tuesdays, 1-2:30 pm

We believe that kids are built for exploring, creating, and getting dirty. At our Ancestral Skills homeschool club, makers will explore all things ancestral.
It used to be that if we needed something, we went to the woods or the farmyard and made it ourselves. We believe that all people big and small crave self-sufficiency. We'll explore bushcraft skills, homesteading and everywhere in between. We will track animals, learn about plant identification, forage, weave, make arrows, shoot bows, make a healing salve using local plants, build shelters, carve soap and whittle toys. Each week will include a new skill, crafts, games, quiet reflection, and good times.

Thinker Tinker
Ages 4-11
Wednesdays, 1-2:30 pm

Remember when your parents got mad when you took apart the toaster to see how it works? Here's your kiddo's chance to tinker, explore and create without getting in trouble!
We'll pull out all sorts of obsolete tech, machines, and cool junk for kids to take apart, explore and create with. Each week, we'll be inspired by a new material, object or invention. Makers will be challenged to explore the history of technology, to know how kids worked and lived all while they make and play. We'll give kids the opportunity to use the objects for their intended purpose or to deconstruct them, innovate and create new art, inventions and more. Great for homeschool and ECE kiddos.
