Fall Rendezvous Retreat.

Join The Craftsman & Apprentice at Amigo Motor Lodge in Salida, CO.

Sept. 15th-17th.

We're gathering a small group of good people to hang, make, and explore. The leaves will be in full color in Salida and the air will be getting crisp. It's the perfect time of year to gather round a fire and enjoy each other's company.

In the 1800's Native Americans, trappers, and merchants would get together once a year to trade, meet, and engage in a bit of revelry. In a nod to the tradition of a western rendezvous, join us and Winter Session at Amigo Motor Lodge for a weekend of western inspired craft workshops, good food and drink, and field trips to DRAM, Woods Distillery, Black Hand Forge, and Mt. Princeton Hot Springs.

Finger Weaving: bracelets, necklaces, and belts.

Finger weaving techniques were widely used on the Western frontier as they require no large equipment and can be worked on in fits and starts. You'll learn traditional finger weaving techniques and patterns to create a bracelet, necklace or go all in for a belt.

 Spoon Carving

Wooden utensils have been in use since the paleolithic age. Using juniper foraged in Colorado and traditional gouges and hand tools you'll learn to shape, carve, and finish a wooden spoon.

Incense Making

Because the smells are so good. Using sage, lavender and more stored and dried from the summer season, we'll create a variety of incense.
