In-House Workshop Offerings:
(project photos coming soon! We're a work in progress)
Raw Wool Tassels: Learn about the history of the ages-old world craft tradition while you create large and small tassels to adorn your walls, bags, and home.
Mini-Weaving, Wall Hangings: Learn to weave without the time commitment of taking on a large loom project. Using our 5x7 looms, we'll learn a few weaving techniques and you'll come away with a woven wall hanging to be proud of.
Basket Weaving: We're a little obsessed with basket weaving around here. It's a craft tradition that started with usefulness and grew into an object of adornment and skilled craftsmanship. Learn the basics of weaving with rope and yarn. You'll take home a small basket of your own creating.
Felt Valet Trays: Design, cut, construct, and rivet a custom set of thick felt valet trays.
Yarn Wall Hangings: Forget macrame. This simple technique packs a big bang. Create a beautiful yarn wall hanging in just a few hours. If we're feeling ambitious, we can create tassels and pom poms to add to the hangings.
Embroidery 101: This is a two hour crash course in the basics of hand embroidery. We'll create a quick sampler and you'll then design and begin on a take home project.
Book Binding: Book binding was my first craft obsession. We'll select hand made papers and learn a technique similar to Japanese punch binding to create a unique journal with an exposed binding.
Copper Tooling: Using thick copper foil, we'll design, trace, and emboss a copper relief. We'll apply a faux patina and frame each finished piece. 4x6 frame included.
Arrow Making: Archery dates back to the ancient Egyptians. Since then, it has been a part of almost all cultures. We'll learn the basics of arrow making while creating two decorative arrows complete with arrow heads and real feather flocking.
Copper and Walnut Jewelry: Necklaces. Go big or go home. We'll cut, drill, sand, and shape a chunk of walnut wood scrap then we'll add hammered copper accents for a sweet statement pieces
Pine Cone Firestarters: Get your camping prep on! We'll learn all about the properties of creating a good firestarter. Then we'll bind and wax dip pine cones to create firestarter kits that can them be saved for your expeditions or given as gifts.
Seed Bombs: In this down and dirty DIY project, we'll learn all about how spreading bee friendly seeds and plants helps bees thrive. We'll mix up seeds, compost, and clay to form simple balls. Then just toss (with permission), water, and grow! Great for spring.
Wooden Boxes or Trays: Cut and assemble a rustic wood tray or box using cedar planks. Sand, stain and finish to your liking.
Reclaimed Wood Candle Holders: We have tons of scrap wood and tree limbs. Cut, drill and finish your own holders then we'll blend a few scents, melt, and pour 100% soy wax into your holders.
Wood Flower Press: Create an 8x10 flower press to preserve all of those specimens. We'll also talk about proper harvesting and preservation techniques.
Sling Shots and Felt Ammo: Dennis the Menace has nothing on the adults that come to make sling shots. Design, cut, and finish your own wrist rocket. We'll then spend some time making felted wool balls to use as ammo. This is a great corporate event or a date night!
Succulent Box: Cut an interesting lip on the bandsaw, assemble and finish a few small boxes to house your growing succulent collection. Two plants included.
