Weaving as Meditation. Sunday, January. 29th. 10-2pm
Weaving is an ancient, sacred craft that integrates the body and the mind. In this class we will approach it as a practice for meditation and expression. After a short, guided meditation we’ll learn the bare-bones basics of weaving, after which we will take an intuitive, no-rules, free-form approach to creating for the remainder of the class. A wide variety of yarns, fibers, and natural materials such as feathers and foraged botanicals will be available for you to incorporate into your piece. Come with an open, listening heart and be ready to explore! You’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind wall hanging to bring new beauty into your living space, as well as a basic handbook that contains the knowledge to continue your weaving journey.
All materials are included; however, if you have fabric scraps, fibers, or natural materials that have special meaning to you, please feel free to bring them along to incorporate into your piece - it’s possible to weave with almost anything!
